Richard Campbell has over 20 years of experience in engineering and quality management. Richard began their career in 1996 as an Engineer at RSI Wireless Communications, where they led a team of three engineers and seven technical staff. During their three-year tenure, they managed the transfer of production from the UK to the US of cellular base station antennas and implemented and integrated engineering and manufacturing into a new MRP system. In 1999, they took on a Product Engineer role at Emerson Electric and a Program Manager role at Trend Technologies, where they managed highly complex contract manufacturing projects for computer companies Dell, Intel and Noratel.
In 2002, Richard joined Grainger as a Senior Engineering Manager - Global Sourcing, where they led a team of 30 managers, engineers and technicians to develop performance and design specifications, evaluate products, drive design and manufacturing improvements, ensure compliance, qualify suppliers, and provide technical support for over 85,000 globally sourced private label products that generate $1 Billion in sales in all MRO product categories. Richard also built Grainger engineering capabilities to optimize product procurement, resulting in a saving of $51.5M (12%) on $416M in spend.
From 2016 to 2022, Richard served as both Vice President Engineering and Quality and Director of Engineering and Quality at Light Efficient Design. Richard is currently Vice President Engineering and Quality at BreezEV.
Richard Campbell received their MBA from Northern Illinois University in 2010, where they studied Business. Richard also holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, which they earned in 1993.
