Amir Michael has a diverse and extensive work experience. Amir began their career as an intern at Cisco Systems in 1997. Amir then worked at Google as a Hardware Engineer from 2003 to 2009. From 2009 to 2013, they held multiple roles at Facebook, including Hardware and Datacenter Engineer, Manager Hardware Design, and Manager System Engineering. During their time at Facebook, they played a key role in the development of the Open Compute hardware platform. In 2013, they founded Coolan and served as CEO until its acquisition by Salesforce in 2016. After the acquisition, they became the Vice President of Infrastructure Engineering at Salesforce until 2018. From 2013 to 2018, Amir also co-founded and chaired the Incubation Committee at the Open Compute Project Foundation. Currently, they are the Chief Technology Evangelist at Lightbits Labs since February 2020 and also serves as an Advisor to the company since August 2018.
Amir Michael attended UC Santa Barbara from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. In 2011, they attended the Fung Institute, Engineering Leadership Professional Program at the University of California, Berkeley. No specific degree name is provided for this program.
