Brad Bouse began their career in 1999 as a Designer at Threshold Entertainment, where they designed sites for Mortal Kombat, Conan the Barbarian and Duke Nukem, as well as built games for Threshold’s entertainment portal. In 2000, they became a Designer at NBC Universal, working with a small team to design and build a prototype portal featuring NBC’s comedy content. Brad also directed short films and animations, and made the game Dew Man for Mountain Dew. In 2002, Bouse began freelancing, designing and developing applications for a range of clients, and making a feature-length documentary. Brad also led a failed startup. That same year, they became a Design and Front-end Engineering consultant at AlphaDetail, where they designed and wrote the survey interface from scratch and helped hire a team of front-end engineers. In 2006, Bouse joined Ayzenberg Group as an Interactive Media Developer, working with a small team of designers to create campaigns, sites, and games for various clients. From 2007 to 2008, they were the Director of User Experience at Geni.com, where they designed and developed the family tree interface. In 2012, Bouse founded and became CEO of Code Fellows, a digital trade school that runs intensive bootcamps to teach fundamental tech skills. Finally, in 2015, they became CEO and Co-Founder of Lightboard, a company that delivers quality design for B2B marketing teams.
Brad Bouse attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 1995 to 1997, and then transferred to the University of Southern California, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production in 1999.
