Yating Chen

Yating Chen, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Data Products at LightBox, a position held since April 2016, where responsibilities include leading the development of core data products focusing on data connectivity and integrity. Prior roles at LightBox feature management positions resulting in significant business growth and the successful delivery of tailored data solutions for major clients, including Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Yating's expertise encompasses spatial data solutions, project management, and technical support across various sectors. Additionally, Yating co-founded the Chinese Irvine Toastmaster club and has contributed to geospatial data projects in academic and consulting capacities throughout a robust career in geographic information science, supported by advanced degrees from China Agricultural University and experience as a visiting scholar at UC Santa Barbara.
