Jeff Nicholson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in leadership roles, currently serving as Senior Engineering Manager at Lightera since April 2025. Prior to this, Nicholson held the position of Senior Engineering Manager at OFS for over 24 years, also serving as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff during that time. Earlier career roles include Senior Scientist at Directed Energy Solutions, Research Scientist at the University of New Mexico, and Postdoctoral Researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Nicholson earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Optical Sciences from The University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from the University of Houston.
