Rex Downham

Rex Downham has over a decade of work experience in various roles in the field of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. Rex is currently working as the Head of Player Experience at Lightfox Games since 2019. Prior to this, from 2014 to 2019, Rex worked at King, starting as a Senior User Experience Designer and eventually becoming the Principal User Experience Designer. While at King, they led the UX Craft and worked on multiple projects, including a real-time Multiplayer Action RPG and a sequel to the hit mobile game, Battle Nations.

Before their time at King, Rex worked as the Lead User Experience/UI Designer at Disney Interactive Studios from 2013 to 2014, where they led the design for multiple mobile titles, including Star Wars: Tiny Death Star. Rex also started working on a series of new titles during that period.

From 2011 to 2013, Rex held various roles at Zynga, starting as a User Interface Designer and progressing to the Principal User Experience Designer. Rex primarily focused on the design of Zynga Poker for iOS and Android, and also contributed to an unannounced project.

In 2011, Rex worked as an Internet Marketing Designer (Contractor) at DeNA for a brief period. Prior to that, they were a User Interface Designer at TinyCo, a Jam City Company, where they worked on popular social games and apps like Tiny Chef and VIP Poker.

Before venturing into the field of UX/UI design, Rex gained experience in graphic design, marketing, and advertising at Hard Knocks, LLC., where they served as the advertising and marketing director. Rex was responsible for digital and print advertising, website maintenance, and on-premises branding.

Rex also has freelance experience as a web designer. Rex worked as a freelance web designer for the Rhode Island Association of School Principals and We Are Titans in 2009. Additionally, they briefly worked in production logistics at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in 2008.

Rex Downham pursued their education between 2004 and 2005 at Full Sail University. During this time, they obtained an Associates degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia.
