Fuelling the Future of Flight.

Lighthouse Green Fuels (LGF) is developing one of the largest second-generation Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) facility's in the world - converting sustainably-sourced biomass into SAF at industrial scale.

Developed by Alfanar Projects, LGF represents a >£2 billion investment in Teesside and a flagship of the UK’s Jet Zero ambitions. Fully funded and engineering-ready, with Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) completion due at the start of 2026, the facility will produce 180 million litres of SAF each year - supplying more than 44% of the UK’s non-HEFA SAF and 11% of the total UK SAF mandate by 2030.

By integrating with carbon capture and storage (CCS), LGF can achieve over 200% lifecycle emissions reduction - delivering truly carbon-negative fuel that helps airlines cut operational emissions and meet long-term sustainability targets.

From its base in Teesside, LGF is helping to establish a new green industry, creating thousands of jobs, strengthening regional capability, and positioning the UK as a global leader in sustainable aviation.
