Alyna Smith serves as a Board Member at both Lighthouse Reports and European Digital Rights since 2022, and holds the position of Deputy Director at PICUM until December 2024, where responsibilities include governance, fundraising, and HR. Previously, Alyna led advocacy efforts on access to justice and health care at PICUM while also focusing on digital rights and technology's impact on marginalized communities. Former experience includes serving as an Associate at White & Case, a Judicial Clerk at the Federal Court of Canada, a Technical Officer at the World Health Organization, and a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto's Joint Centre for Bioethics. Alyna holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.), a Master of Arts (MA) in Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Human Biology and Philosophy, all from the University of Toronto.
