David Chisholm

David Chisholm has extensive work experience in the field of chemistry and research. David started their career at Durham University as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they focused on designing and synthesizing bioactive compounds for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. During this time, their research led to a patent application, two publications, and the creation of Nevrargenics Ltd. David also supervised the research projects of undergraduate students.

Following their time at Durham University, David joined LightOx Ltd as a Research Chemist. In this role, they established the company's core intellectual property and developed a novel technology for the destruction of cancerous cells. This intellectual property played a crucial role in securing seed investment of over £250k. Additionally, David designed and commercialized a range of research tools called LightOx Probes, which generated sales of over £100k through worldwide distributor Sigma Millipore.

Currently, David serves as the Chemistry Team Leader at LightOx Ltd. David manages a team of three chemists and is responsible for the development of LightOx's photoactive therapy for oral epithelial dysplasia and other research and development programs. David has made significant contributions to the company, including the development of key intellectual property for the oral epithelial dysplasia research and advancing the company through preclinical development.

David Chisholm completed their education in a chronological manner. From 2009 to 2013, they attended Durham University and earned a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, graduating with honors. Following this, they pursued further studies at Durham University from 2013 to 2016 and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological Chemistry.
