Carmel Sofer

Carmel Sofer serves as an Associate Professor in the Departments of Cognitive and Brain Sciences and Industrial Engineering & Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev since October 2018. In addition, Carmel holds the position of Chairperson at Roni's Neighbors, a nonprofit organization aimed at alleviating seniors' loneliness through community engagement, and is the Chairman of YAZAMUT 360, BGU Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Strategic advisory roles include positions at Sightful and Lightricks. Carmel's previous experience includes serving as General Partner at Gemini Israel Ventures, President of Comverse Europe, and Founder and CEO of Starhome. Educational credentials include a PhD in Psychology from Radboud University, postdoctoral studies in Psychology from Ben-Gurion University, an MSc in Management from the University of Bradford, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
