Ofir Bibi

Ofir Bibi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Ofir began their career as a PC Technician at PC Lab in 1996 and worked there until 2000. Ofir then freelanced as a Web Designer from 1997 to 2000. In 2001, Ofir joined the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) as a Team Leader and Project Manager, a position they held until 2006.

After their military service, Ofir worked as a Competitive Intelligence and Cyber Projects Consultant at CCI from 2006 to 2010, where they conducted research and provided training on competitive intelligence methodologies. Ofir also developed cyber protection measures for corporate clients during this time.

In 2007, Ofir took on roles as a Web and Networking Consultant and Developer of Neural Networks & Algorithms at Hebrew University, where they worked until 2009.

From 2009 to 2015, Ofir worked at BrightSource Energy, Inc. Ofir started as an Algorithms & Software Developer, then became a Senior Algorithms & Software Developer, leading the development of a weather collection, analysis, and prediction system. Finally, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer, incorporating machine learning into various systems.

In 2012, Ofir joined ISG (Israeli Smart Grid Consortium) as a Researcher, focusing on developing predictive models of electrical load in various consumption levels. Ofir also performed data analysis and model fitting for real-world data during their time there.

In 2015, Ofir joined Lightricks as a Senior Researcher, applying state-of-the-art research to consumer products in the domains of computer vision, image processing, and graphics. Ofir then moved on to become the Director of Research, where they built and scaled up the research team, focusing on computer vision, audio, and text. Currently, Ofir holds the role of VP of Research at Lightricks, managing and growing several groups in the Data and Research domains while building state-of-the-art ML solutions for product.

Most recently, in 2022, Ofir became an Advisor and Angel Investor at tons.ai, where they provide guidance and investment support.

Ofir Bibi obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Computer Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This educational achievement occurred between 2006 and 2009. Following this, Ofir pursued further studies and earned a PhD in Neural Computation from the same university. The PhD program spanned from 2009 to 2014.
