Yoav Ben Yair

Yoav Ben Yair has a comprehensive work experience history, with their most recent position being the Director of Data Engineering at Lightricks, starting in December 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Data Platform at Lightricks from April 2022 to December 2022.

Before joining Lightricks, Yoav worked at The Weather Company, an IBM Business, where they held the role of R&D Team Lead - Data Strategy from November 2019 to May 2022. In this role, they were responsible for building The Weather Company's next-generation user behavior analytics platform. Prior to that, they served as the R&D Team Lead - Mobile and Cloud Development at The Weather Company from August 2016 to November 2019.

Yoav also has experience working at IBM, where they held various positions including Software Development Team Lead from February 2015 to August 2016, Senior Software Engineer from January 2014 to February 2015, and Software Engineer from July 2011 to December 2013.

Before transitioning to the tech industry, Yoav served in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), specifically the Intelligence Corps. Yoav held the position of Development Team Lead from October 2006 to October 2009. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Developer in the same organization from February 2004 to April 2006.

Yoav Ben Yair earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Engineering from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Yoav attended this university from 2009 to 2013. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the same institution, specializing in Double Major, Finance & Strategy and Managerial Entrepreneurship. Yoav completed their MBA program from 2011 to 2014. Prior to their university education, Yoav received training as a Software Developer at Basmach (IDF) in 2003.
