Joaquin Oliveira

Joaquin Oliveira serves as the Global CEO of Lightsource bp since March 2021 and is a member of its Board of Directors. Previously, Joaquin Oliveira held multiple senior leadership roles at bp from January 2001 to February 2024, including Senior Vice President of the gas and low carbon energy group, where responsibilities encompassed leading global finance for low carbon initiatives such as hydrogen and renewable energy, as well as the gas business worldwide. Additional roles at bp included interim executive vice president and vice president of finance for exploration and production in the Americas, among others. Joaquin Oliveira also served on the boards of Beacon Wind Holdings LLC, Empire Wind, and Pan American Energy. Prior to joining bp, Joaquin Oliveira worked at Eli Lilly and Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers, holding various positions in finance and auditing. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Finance and General Management from Indiana University Bloomington and a BS in Accounting from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Venezuela.
