Matt O'Brien

Matt O'Brien is a highly experienced finance professional currently serving as the Global Head of Accounting, Reporting & Control and Finance Integration Lead at Lightsource bp since December 2023. Prior to this role, O'Brien held the position of Financial Controller for Offshore Wind at bp from January 2022 to December 2023. O'Brien's career at EY spanned nearly a decade, during which time the individual advanced from an Audit associate to a Senior Manager in the Global Oil & Gas Assurance Sector. O'Brien's early career included roles at bp in Upstream Accounting Policy, sanofi-aventis in HR, and Sera Lab Ltd as an Accounts Assistant. With a degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Loughborough University, O'Brien has developed a strong background in finance and accounting across various sectors.
