Richard Hatton has extensive work experience in the power and energy industry. Richard is currently working at Lightsource bp as the Director of Delivery for the EMEA region, starting in 2023, and previously as the Director of Delivery for the APAC region from 2022 to 2023.
Prior to their role at Lightsource bp, Richard held various positions at Marubeni Power Asset Management Limited, including Senior Vice President Projects from 2021 to 2022, Vice President Projects from 2018 to 2021, and VP Asia IPP Development Support from 2015 to 2018.
Before joining Marubeni, Richard worked at Arup, where they held several roles such as East Asia Power Generation Business & Global Energy Skills Leader from 2012 to 2015, Project & Design Manager Sludge Treatment Facility from 2009 to 2015, Lenders Technical Adviser from 2012 to 2015, and others.
Richard also worked at other companies earlier in their career, including THEBIGBRAINSTORM as a Developer from 2007 to 2012, Atco Power as a Power Plant Developer from 2001 to 2004, ScottishPower as an EPC Contract Manager from 1998 to 2001, Mott MacDonald as a Power Plant Engineer from 1995 to 1998, and Alstom Power as an Electrical Engineer from 1992 to 1995.
Richard'searliest work experience was as an Electrician at the North Western Electricity Board (NorWEB) from 1986 to 1989. Throughout their career, Richard has gained expertise in power plant development, project management, and leadership roles within the energy sector.
Richard Hatton attended Liverpool John Moores University from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors degree in electrical. Richard further pursued their education at The University of Manchester from 1992 to 1993, where they completed their Master of Science degree without specifying the field of study.
