Scott Byer

Scott Byer is a seasoned professional in energy markets with extensive experience in power trading and market origination. Currently serving as Senior Director of Power Markets at Lightsource bp since January 2022, Scott leads the origination and structuring of financeable off-take arrangements for significant solar and storage projects in the WECC region. Prior to this role, Scott spent nearly 15 years at Calpine, where responsibilities included managing west power trading, developing structured power and gas products, and negotiating high-stakes capacity deals across the PNW and DSW regions. Scott’s career also includes positions at Suez, Landmark Power Exchange, and Amerex Energy, accompanied by a strong educational background in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University and a degree from Rice University.
