Simms Duncan began their work experience in 1999 as a Senior Vice President at Jefferies, where they advised and negotiated strategic transactions for leading technology companies. Simms then joined Applied Materials in 2008 as a Managing Director, leading their corporate development efforts in the solar industry. In 2011, Duncan became Vice President of Project Finance at Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc., where they led a team executing project acquisition, financing, and sale transactions. Simms then moved to EnSync Energy Systems in 2016 as Vice President of Structured Finance, leading the function for their solar+storage projects. Currently, Duncan is with Lightsource bp as a Senior Vice President of Structured Finance, where they lead a team executing financing and M&A transactions for US utility-scale solar facilities.
Simms Duncan completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Avionics & Electrical Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School. Later on, from 1997 to 1999, Simms attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
