Yun Yu

Yun Yu is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in both startup and corporate environments. Currently a founding engineer at Lightspark since August 2022, Yun is exploring the utility of the Lightning Network. Prior to this role, Yun worked at Meta from August 2016 to August 2022, focusing on payments and the Novi platform. An academic background includes a postdoctoral research association at the Computer Science Department of Rice University (June 2009 - June 2016), where Yun was the main developer of the PhyloNet software package. Earlier professional experience includes roles at Agriculture Bank of China Shanghai Branch, where significant contributions were made to the Equipment Business Management System, and an internship at Shanghai CAST Software Co., Ltd, developing an IT Supply Management System. Yun holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rice University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
