Joe Binder

Joe Binder is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as a Partner at Lightspeed since September 2024, where collaboration within an exceptional legal team is emphasized. Previously, Joe worked at Debevoise & Plimpton from February 2022 to October 2024, initially as a Partner and Counsel, providing comprehensive support on fund formation strategies. Joe's experience also includes serving as Associate General Counsel at Sequoia Capital from February 2020 to January 2022, focusing on global fund formation and investments. Joe began a career at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in 2013 as an Associate in the investment management group and previously worked as a tax associate. Prior to entering the legal field, Joe founded Ambit Communications, creating impactful content for notable cultural and educational institutions, and served as the Grants Manager for Chicago Children's Theatre. Joe holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Northeastern Illinois University.
