Michael Lawson

Michael Lawson currently serves as the Head of Design & Planning at LightSpeed Broadband since January 2024. Previously, Michael held the same title at AllPoints Fibre from February 2022 to August 2023, where responsibilities included developing and automating planning and design processes. Michael's experience also encompasses leadership roles at VXFIBER, overseeing fibre design and planning across the UK and mainland Europe, and at CityFibre, managing full fibre network architecture. Prior positions include Network Fibre Planner and Access Fibre Planner at Virgin Media, Telecomms Switch Engineer at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and Access Network Engineer at NTL. Michael's early career involved mechanical engineering training, establishing a strong technical foundation. Formal education includes attendance at The Blue Coat School in Oldham and technical training spanning from 1999 to 2013.
