Cole Lillard has held various positions in the software engineering and nuclear engineering fields since 2010. In 2010, they began their career as a Department of Homeland Security Intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In 2012, they moved to B&W Y-12 LLC as a Graduate Research Assistant. In 2013, they became a Scientist at Pantex Plant. From 2014 to 2018, they held three roles at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) as a Nuclear Engineer - Cost Analyst, Nuclear Engineer - Cost Analyst, and NNSA Graduate Fellow. In 2018, they moved to PerfectServe, Inc. as a Software Engineer In Test. In 2019, they joined Lirio as a Software Engineer and is currently employed at Lightyear as a Software Engineer since 2022.
Cole Lillard attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics. Cole then returned to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 2011 to 2012 to pursue a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering and a Nuclear Security Science and Analysis Graduate Certificate. Cole then attended the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2020, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science.
