Desmond Zhong

Desmond Zhong has a diverse work experience in the software development field. Desmond most recently worked as a Senior iOS Developer at Lime starting in July 2021. Before that, they worked as a Senior Frontend Developer at Alipay's Huabei, where they used React Hooks, Typescript, and Ant Design to develop the frontend infrastructure. Desmond also utilized a function style serverless backend for frontend development and followed a self-developed workflow for unit testing, linting, code review, continuous integration, and environment management.

Prior to their role at Alipay, Desmond founded their own software development company in 2018, working remotely for Spriggy. This experience provided him with a deep understanding of running a business in China.

Desmond's journey in the software industry began at Beijing Tuyou Information Technology Limited Company in 2014, where they worked as an iOS Developer. After gaining experience in China, they embarked on a two-year travel adventure as a working holiday maker in Australia and New Zealand, immersing himself in different cultures and gaining insights into the internet industry.

Desmond Zhong attended Renmin University of China from 2013 to 2014, where they studied Physics. Desmond then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Technology at China People's University from 2014 to 2017. In terms of certifications, Desmond obtained a Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Elementary certification from Duolingo in May 2016. Desmond also obtained a national computer level examination certification from the Ministry of Education Testing Center in September 2009.
