Tim Benton

Tim Benton has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Tim currently serves as the Vice President of Engineering at Linaro, starting in June 2021. Prior to this, Tim worked at Facebook as an Engineering Manager from January 2020 to May 2021. Tim's longest tenure was at Arm, where they held two roles: Senior Director of Software Engineering for the Open Source Software group from February 2018 to January 2020, and Platform Software Engineering Director in the OSS Engineering group from May 2017 to January 2018. Tim's previous roles include Senior Engineering Manager at Accenture from August 2012 to May 2017, Head of Delivery for Microsoft Platforms at Teleca from April 2011 to July 2012, and various leadership positions at Microsoft from 1999 to 2011, including Principal Development Manager, Senior Development Lead, and Senior Software Developer. Tim also has experience at STNC Ltd, Persimmon IT Inc, Keybase Systems, and IPCA Ltd, where they held software development and technical director roles.

Tim Benton earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Warwick between 1986 and 1989.
