Mark Chen began their career in 2002 as a Backend Development Engineer at Tencent, where they were responsible for the development and maintenance of the company's website, implementation of the website, testing, and maintenance and upgrading of the existing website. In 2006, they moved to Linden Lab, where they held the roles of LabMetaverse Senior Engineering Manager, Team Lead of Extraction, and Software Engineer. In this role, they worked with their team to develop the golang REST apis to address the needs of Second Life and Sansar, and helped launch the business at Tilia, Inc. In 2009, they joined Los Angeles Investment Company, LLC as an Angel Capital, where they were responsible for making early direct investments in high-risk start-ups with huge development potential.
Mark Chen completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and Science from Xiamen University in 2002. Mark then went on to pursue a Master of Computer Applications - MCA from Boston University, majoring in Mathematics and Computational Finance, which they completed in 2006.
