Richard D. Steele

Senior Researcher

Richard Steele is the Chief Scientist at Lingraphica, a position held since 1990. Previously, they served as a Research Health Scientist at the Rehabilitation Research and Development Center at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center from 1982 to 1990. Steele also was a Visiting Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at Eastern Washington University from 2002 to 2009, teaching courses in Computer Ethics, User Interface Design, and Web Usability. Their academic career began as an Assistant Professor in the Russian Department at Grinnell College from 1976 to 1980. Steele earned their MA and PhD in Slavic Language & Linguistics from Harvard University and holds a BS in Physics, Math, and Russian from Stanford University.
