Richard Ford

Richard Ford is currently the VP of Finance at Linode. Prior to joining Linode, Richard was the Director of Finance at Music Choice, where they oversaw the financial operations of a $70MM multi-media entertainment and technology operation which serves over 50MM households.

During their time at Music Choice, Richard made a number of key accomplishments, including reducing the monthly close by 20 days while reducing the department size and cost, overseeing the audit and 1065 tax preparation, and implementing an automated requisition and purchase order system which saved 2%. In addition, Richard redesigned the employee bonus plan which improved morale and reduced turnover by 20%, and saved $250k by reducing initial health benefits renewal costs 29% to near breakeven while maintaining benefits.

Richard is known for their budgeting skills, and developed a budget model at Music Choice that improved overall accuracy, tracking against key metrics and ability to quickly reforecast. Richard also identified short falls in insurance coverage, secured new broker and dramatically increased coverage while premiums remained flat. Lastly, Richard managed the 401k plan at Music Choice, choosing of funds, ERISA compliance, audit and reduced broker fees 50%.

Richard Ford began their educational career by earning a BS in Accounting from Rutgers University - Camden. Richard then went on to earn an Executive MBA from Saint Joseph's University - Erivan K. Haub School of Business. Finally, they earned a certification from the CPA.
