Caryl Stern

Caryl Stern serves as the Chief Impact Officer at LionTree since August 2023 and has been a member of the Board of Directors for The Container Store since October 2014. Previously, Caryl Stern was the Executive Director of the Walton Family Foundation from January 2020 to July 2023, overseeing a team of over 100 staff across the U.S. From June 2007 to October 2019, Caryl Stern held the position of President & CEO at UNICEF USA, where responsibilities included managing operations for a $58 million organization with over 200 staff. Caryl Stern’s experience also includes roles such as Chief Operating Officer at UNICEF USA, Senior Associate National Director & COO at the Anti-Defamation League, and Dean of Students & Freshman Studies at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering. Caryl Stern holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art and advanced degrees in College Student Personnel Administration from Western Illinois University and a Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago.
