Literations is a nonprofit literacy organization dedicated to improving the reading skills of K-3rd grade students in under-resourced communities of Greater Boston. Our intergenerational model, pairing caring, highly-trained older adult volunteers with young students, is key to achieving our positive outcomes.

For over 20 years, we have made a difference in young lives. From the start, our mission has always been to help young students become literacy proficient. We believe children have the most to gain from achieving literacy proficiency by fourth grade, to be confident learners, and equipped for lifelong success. We are poised to meet the need for increased 1:1 literacy support in the Greater Boston area.

The Program Coordination Team at Literations is responsible for the implementation and oversight of literacy programs across various locations, including partnerships with schools and community organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs. The team coordinates the placement and training of volunteer tutors, manages program logistics, and ensures that each initiative aligns with Literations' mission to improve reading skills among K-3rd grade students in under-resourced communities. They also engage in community outreach to expand the nonprofit's impact and ensure effective operation of all literacy support services.
