Alberto Crespo

Principal Technical Artist at Live CGI

Alberto Crespo has a strong background in technical art and visual effects. Alberto began their career as a Senior 3D Artist at Omega Training Group in 2005, where they led the 3D team and was responsible for various tasks such as modeling, texturing, animation, and video editing. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Senior 3D Artist at Janus Research Group, where they focused on creating art assets for training simulators.

In 2008, Crespo joined The Weather Channel as a Principal VFX Designer and served as the Principle VFX Supervisor. In this role, they managed a team of artists and programmers, oversaw the production of major augmented reality and VFX projects, and ensured the proper setup of sets for VFX. Alberto also assisted in creating assets and quality checking augmented reality segments. Crespo remained with The Weather Channel until May 2022.

More recently, in 2022, Crespo joined Live CGI as a Principal Technical Artist. Their responsibilities in this role include technical art tasks and leveraging their expertise in Unreal Engine. In 2023, Crespo moved to Project Daruma where they hold the position of Principal Unreal Engine Technical Artist.

Alberto Crespo obtained a Bachelor's degree in 3D modeling and animation from Savannah College of Art and Design, completing their education from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their degree, they also obtained a certification in Project Management Foundations from LinkedIn in June 2021.
