Ray Castle has worked in the technology, education, and customer service industries since 2001. Ray'sfirst job was as a Product Consultant at Franklin Covey, where they gained knowledge about time management. In 2003, they began teaching English at James Sandoval Preparatory High School, where they designed and implemented their own curriculum. From 2006 to 2011, they were a Certified Teacher at Klamath Adult Learning Center, Klamath Institute, where they assisted and instructed students, designed new curriculum, and advised students. Since 2011, they have been a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer at LiveAuctioneers, where they have worked with the website, acted as a MySQL database administrator, and served as a Linux system administrator.

Ray Castle obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Columbia University between 1996 and 2000. Ray then went on to obtain their Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University between 2003 and 2005. In 2009, they obtained an Oregon Initial II Teaching License from the Oregon Department of Education.
