Dejan Mijić

Dejan Mijić has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Dejan started their career as a Software Developer at NTsystems, where they worked as a lead developer and solution architect. Dejan then worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.

Dejan then joined Scientific Games as a Software Engineering Contractor, where they designed and implemented microservices for online gambling and managed platform infrastructure. Dejan also worked as a Software Engineering Contractor at SuperPhone, where they participated in the platform redesign and developed services for message processing and distribution.

After that, Dejan worked as a Technical Consultant at SmartCat.io, where they designed and implemented Apache Spark ETL jobs and contributed to the development of monitoring tools for Apache Cassandra clusters.

Dejan then joined Mainflux - Open Source IoT Platform as a Software Architect, where they designed the platform's architecture and developed its core components. Dejan also conducted research and published articles and a book on scalable architecture for the Internet of Things.

Dejan later worked at Risk.Ident GmbH as a Scala Developer, where they contributed to the development of customizable fraud-detection software and improved the release and deployment process.

Dejan then joined Zalando SE as a Senior Backend Engineer, where they led the development of article review and prioritization services and conducted knowledge-sharing sessions.

Currently, Dejan is working at LiveIntent, Inc. Dejan started as a Senior Software Engineer and later became a Lead Engineer. In this role, they focused on improving system performance and stability, implemented a new database access layer, initiated an operational playbook initiative, and conducted workshops and reference implementations.

Throughout their career, Dejan has demonstrated expertise in software development, system architecture, performance optimization, and knowledge-sharing.

Dejan Mijić completed their education at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. Dejan obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2010. Dejan then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science and completed it in 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Dejan Mijić has also obtained several certifications. In 2016, they earned certifications in "Functional Programming Principles in Scala," "Functional Program Design in Scala," and "Parallel programming" from Coursera Course Certificates. In 2017, they obtained a certification in "Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark" from Coursera. In 2016, they also completed a certification in "Machine Learning" from Coursera Course Certificates.
