Søren Holbech

Søren Holbech has a diverse range of work experience in the field of data science and machine learning. Søren started their career as a PhD student at City University of New York in 2005. Later, they worked as a PhD student at Aalborg University from 2003 to 2007. In 2006, they also worked as a researcher and software architect for the ASPIC EU Project.

In 2008, Holbech joined SurfRay A/S as a software developer and core researcher, where they developed core products and expanded existing research results. Søren also worked as a system developer at WorkBridge from 2007 to 2008.

From 2008 to 2011, Holbech co-founded Sports Predictions Aps, where they served as CTO, scientific advisor, and programmer. Søren developed a prediction engine and managed technical data collection.

Holbech then joined SAS as a consultant and senior consultant from 2008 to 2012. Their responsibilities included consulting on data mining, implementing customer solutions, and participating in analytic projects. Søren also introduced Python and Django as complements to SAS solutions.

In 2012, Holbech co-founded Admazely, where they served as Head of algorithms and AI, data scientist, and co-founder. Their expertise included machine learning and data mining, and they led development on artificial intelligence.

Holbech joined Mojn Ltd in 2013 as the Chief Software Engineer. Søren played a crucial role in ensuring the scientific validity of LiveIntent identity graph and designed and implemented a product recommendation engine.

Currently, Holbech works at LiveIntent, Inc. as the Head of Data Science since September 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist from December 2015 to August 2018.

Throughout their career, Holbech has gained expertise in machine learning, data mining, Python, Scala, Scalding, Hadoop, Orange, Pandas, Scipy, SAS, Django, C#, Java, and SQL Server. Søren has a proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing various data-driven solutions.

Søren Holbech began their education by attending Balleskolen, though no specific dates are provided for this period. Afterward, they enrolled at Aalborg University in 1998 and completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics in 2001. Søren further pursued their education at the same university, earning a Cand.scient degree in Computer Science and Mathematics in 2003. Søren Holbech continued their studies at Aalborg University and attained a Master's degree in Computer Science in 2003 as well. Finally, they completed their education journey by achieving a Ph.D. in Computer Science, specifically in the field of artificial intelligence, from Aalborg University in 2007.
