David Colburn

David Colburn is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing high-performance systems and microservices. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at LiveKit since May 2021, David focuses on innovative solutions. Previously, at Medium from July 2019 to March 2021, David contributed to the recommendation system by building various microservices, including a feature store and kNN vector search. At Evie Labs, from February 2017 to July 2019, David was responsible for the news article recommendation pipeline. Earlier roles include software engineering positions at Liftoff, Inc., and Epic, where David worked on internal applications, problem-oriented charting workflows, and secure messaging systems. David began a career in software development with internships at Trading Technologies and Castle Metals. David holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earned in 2014.
