Brian Bates

Brian Bates has a wealth of experience in business development and sales. Brian began their career in 1999 as the Senior Director of Sales and Business Development at Barnes & Noble, Inc. In 2001, they moved to Follett as the Director of Sales, where they worked until 2009. Brian then joined Akademos, Inc. as the Vice President of Sales. In 2010, Brian became the Vice President of Sales and General Manager and Head of Sales at Rafter, Inc., where they grew the business from $0 - $35M in total revenues. In 2017, Brian joined Content Analytics, Inc. as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and grew the company from under $1M in revenues to almost $10M in less than 2.5 years. Content Analytics was acquired by Syndigo and the Jordan Company in April 2019. In 2018, Brian became a Growth Advisor at Axius Inc., which was acquired by Domotz in April 2019. Most recently, in 2020, Brian joined Lively Root as the Senior Vice President of Business Development.

Brian Bates holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Economics from The Ohio State University and has completed extensive studies towards an MBA in Business at Cleveland State University. Brian also holds certifications from Section4 as a Certified Product Strategist (2022) and from ValueSelling Associates, Inc. as a ValueSelling Program graduate (2019).
