Thom Shutt is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and engineering management. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Livepeer Studio since March 2022, Thom previously held multiple senior roles at Brightcove from December 2015 to October 2021, including Senior Engineering Manager overseeing VOD, Live, CDN, and Cloud Playout. Thom has a strong background in Golang microservices, cloud technologies, and video delivery solutions, having contributed to Brightcove's strategic initiatives and platform development. Prior to Brightcove, Thom worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Algomi, focused on a bond trading platform, and held key engineering roles at the BBC, REQUESTEC Technologies, and as an intern at Mode7 Games. Thom earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Computing from Imperial College London in 2009.
