John McDermott

John McDermott is a seasoned media professional and educator with extensive experience in programming and production. As a Co-Founder of Caloroga Shark Media since October 2023, McDermott focuses on short-form shows under 10 minutes. In academia, McDermott serves as an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University, teaching podcast production, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, where Intro to Radio and Radio Management courses are taught. A longtime contributor to LiveOne, Inc. since February 2015, McDermott curates and hosts comedy programming, including "The Weekly Comedy Thing." Previous roles include EVP Programming at Cadence13, Vice President of Comedy & Entertainment Programming at Sirius XM Radio, and Vice President of Programming at Island Talk 540 WLIE-AM. McDermott holds an MBA in Management from St. John's University and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Fordham University.
