Matthew Thomas

Matthew Thomas, P.E., CFM, MPA, is a seasoned professional in civil engineering and public administration, currently serving as a Senior Project Manager at LJA Engineering, Inc. since July 2022. Previously, Matthew held positions as City Engineer and City Engineer Assistant for Development Services with the City of Amarillo from December 2016 to July 2022. Prior experience includes engineering roles at Thomas and Israel Engineers, where Matthew designed multiple subdivisions and commercial properties, and at KBR, Inc., where budget controls for large construction and maintenance projects were managed. Earlier work includes a position as a Well Site Engineer at Halliburton, focused on cementing and fracturing oil and gas wells. Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Administration from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
