Mac Leckrone

Mac Leckrone practices in the fields of technology transactions, intellectual property management and licensing and general corporate transactions. He has managed several of the world’s most prominent and successful IP licensing programs.

He founded and managed Alliacense, a full-service, industry-leading, IP management and licensing company in the Silicon Valley, where he led specialized teams of engineers, business analysts, business development executives, and legal professionals.

He has negotiated the closure of hundreds of IP-centric commercial transactions across a spectrum of industries including consumer electronics, personal computers, semiconductors, medical devices, robotics, automotive, aerospace, heavy industrial, gaming, TV and film production and broadcasting, 3D graphics, hardware-software ecosystems, software-as-a-service, and biometric security.

In connection with IP enforcement, he has led valuation and damages analysis efforts, reverse engineering efforts, and managed multi-defendant cases in the federal courts and at the International Trade Commission.

At Dolby Laboratories, he led IP licensing strategy and strategic business development initiatives, including the documentation of licensing pools, standards body relationships and M&A efforts, as Dolby prevailed as the dominant digital audio codec format.

As a frequent speaker and from Advisory Boards, Mac has advised numerous technology companies on how to integrate IP licensing into their core strategy for long term growth.
