Michael Hewson

Michael Hewson has worked in the tech industry since 2016. Michael began their career as a Full-Stack Developer Intern at Resistor Software Inc, where they developed web apps that integrated with the Shopify platform, extending the platform with additional functionality. Michael also wrote an app template script to generate a new, functioning Shopify app with Ruby on Rails, React, Typescript, and Webpack, and created and open-sourced an alternative client for Shopify's GraphQL API. Prior to this, Michael worked as a Sales Associate and Website Admin at Control the 'T' Sports, where they wrote a Python script to automate the import of product data into accounting and point-of-sale software. Before that, Michael worked as a Customer Service Representative and Bistro Server at Northfield Racquet & Fitness Club. More recently, Michael has been a Software Developer at LoanPASS since 2019.

Michael Hewson completed their Ontario Secondary School Diploma at Rockway Mennonite Collegiate from 2006 to 2011. Michael then attended the University of Waterloo where they obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science with an Honours Computer Science with Business Option from 2011 to 2019.
