Welcome to Loc.KA.engineering e.V., an interdisciplinary student group dedicated to one primary objective: Pioneering innovative solutions to bring our railway system back on track. 
Being the first participants at European Railway Challenge coming from Baden-Württemberg, we are proud to represent Karlsruhe, home of the well known "Karlsruher Modell". 
Founded in July 2024, we have expanded to a team of over 20 active members and achieved a podium finish, taking 3rd place overall at the 2025 European Railway Challenge with our first locomotive KARLA V1. Our current mission is to refine this modular technology and develop KARLA V2 for the season 2026/27, driving forward our vision for highly efficient and sustainable rail mobility.
