Ignatius Nothnagel

Ignatius Nothnagel has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Ignatius is currently the Director of Platform Engineering at LocalStack. Prior to this role, they founded their own company, Ignatius Nothnagel Executive Coaching, where they provided coaching and consulting services to technology startup founders and leaders. Before starting their coaching business, Ignatius worked as the Head of Engineering at HeadFirst Group. Ignatius also held multiple roles at Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Technical Program Manager, Software Development Manager, and Software Development Engineer. At AWS, they led program management, oversaw security and compliance programs, and managed a team of software engineers. Ignatius'sachievements include delivering certifications and generating a financial impact exceeding $100 million.

Prior to their time at AWS, Ignatius was a Software Development Engineer at Mira Networks, where they built and maintained a microservices-based network of APIs. Ignatius also worked as a Software Development Manager and Software Engineer at FireID, managing project teams and driving technological operations.

Ignatius started their career as an Academic Lecturer, Researcher, and Course Coordinator at the University of Stellenbosch, where they taught research and technical writing skills. Ignatius also held the role of an Academic Lecturer and Researcher.

In 2009, Ignatius returned to Stellenbosch University to study Computer Science, Software Engineering, Algorithms, Systems Programming, and related fields, completing their studies in 2012. Ignatius also attended Parel Vallei High School from 1999 to 2003. In terms of additional certifications, Ignatius obtained an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) certification from the International Coaching Federation in April 2023 and a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) certification from iPEC Coaching in 2022. Ignatius also holds an edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Functional Programming (Haskell) from edX, obtained in 2015, and is a member of the International Coaching Federation, earning the ICF Member Badge in March 2022.
