Benjamin Thompson

Benjamin Thompson is a seasoned Research Engineer, currently serving as the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems Engineering Senior Staff at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control since 2018. They possess expertise in algorithm development, vehicle autonomy, and signal processing. Benjamin earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, where they focused on signals, controls, and computational intelligence. Prior to their current role, they worked at The Pennsylvania State University Applied Research Laboratory from 2005 to 2018, where they advanced autonomy capabilities for vehicle systems, managed a department dedicated to algorithm development, and contributed significantly to target detection and tracking research.
