Dan Watson

Contamination Control Engineer

Dan Watson is a seasoned contamination control engineer and analyst currently supporting Lockheed Martin's Space, Next Generation Interceptor, and Fleet Ballistic Missile programs since September 2025. Prior experience includes serving as a Mission Assurance/Specialty Engineer at General Atomics, where responsibilities involved FDIR design, FMECA analysis, spacecraft materials selection, and contamination control analysis. Watson's tenure at United Launch Alliance from June 2008 to May 2019 included multiple roles such as Avionics Materials and Process Engineer, Propulsion Engineer, Reliability Engineer, and Payload Contamination Analyst, contributing to critical projects such as the Delta IV Second Stage and the Space Launch System. Watson holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a BS in Chemical Engineering from The University of Alabama.
