Jacob Carroll

Jacob Carroll is currently a Staff Machine Learning/AI Research Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where they serve as the Principal Investigator for the Sensemaking AI/ML IRAD portfolio. Previously, they held several roles at Lockheed Martin, including Senior Software Engineer and Flight Software Lead, where they contributed to significant projects such as the deep space probe Lucy simulation. Jacob completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Physics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, along with a Master’s Degree and multiple Bachelor’s Degrees in Physics and Mathematics, all with Highest Honors. Additionally, they conducted research at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where their work on phase transitions in neural networks earned recognition at a student symposium.
