James Heath

James Heath is a Senior Research Scientist at Lockheed Martin, where they lead post-launch test science for the GLM instruments on the GOES-R satellite series. Previously, they gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Arizona and as a Biomedical Engineer Intern at OHSU, where they constructed advanced microscopy systems. They also worked as a Machine Vision Engineer at Camsensor Technologies, focusing on automated camera grading processes, and held various internships in electrical engineering and software development across multiple companies. James holds a Master of Science in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, as well as degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from Portland State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese and Chinese from the University of Oregon.
