Mitchell Young

Mitchell Young is currently a Directed Energy Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where they have been a member of the engineering staff since 2021. They previously gained experience as a System Engineer Intern II at SAIC, conducting assessments on technologies crucial for U.S. military superiority. Mitchell also worked as an intern at Spencer Stuart, where they developed a digital database of client searches. As an undergraduate researcher, they contributed to significant projects at both the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University, focusing on novel polymers for defense applications and lightweight ballistic armor. Mitchell is pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Physics at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering, building on their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Temple University.
