Paul Benfield

Paul Benfield is currently a Senior Manager for the Orion Artemis II Mission at Lockheed Martin, a position they have held since 2023. They previously managed the Orion Artemis IV Mission and integrated safety and reliability for Project Orion. With experience as a Denver Operations Program Manager at ARES Corporation and roles at United Space Alliance as a Space Shuttle Astronaut and Ground Control Instructor, they have a strong background in risk assessment and mission assurance. Benfield has also served as a Senior Safety & Mission Assurance Engineer at SAIC and as a Mission Assurance Senior Manager at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company from 2013 to 2023. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA in Business Administration at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
