Tom van Cleave

Tom Van Cleave is a seasoned Materials & Processes Engineer with extensive experience at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company since October 1990. Currently serving as a Sr. Staff Engineer, Tom provides subject matter expertise across various programs, leading initiatives related to risk mitigation, failure investigations, and additive manufacturing. Tom has held management roles, including overseeing Parts Engineering and M&P groups with up to 25 direct reports, ensuring technical leadership and resolution of critical engineering challenges. With a proven track record in nuclear hardness, survivability, and continuous improvement projects, Tom is recognized for expertise in thermal control coatings, plating, and corrosion prevention. Prior experience includes positions at Westinghouse Marine Division and Memorex, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Santa Clara University.
