Deborah Markley serves as the Executive Director of Community & Sector Partnerships and is currently the Senior Vice President of LOCUS Impact Investing, where they work to empower place-focused foundations to invest locally for community development. With over 30 years of experience in community economic development, Deborah has held various academic and leadership positions, including co-founding the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship and serving as an assistant professor at multiple universities. They hold a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Virginia Tech, alongside both a BS and MS from Cornell University.
