Athena Lo

Athena Lo has a diverse work experience in design-related roles. Starting in 2010, they worked as a SuperIntern at ecolect, researching greener alternatives to building materials. In 2011, they interned at Handsome Co., designing new products and sourcing materials. Athena then joined Rhode Island School of Design, where they held various positions, including Resident Assistant, Wood Shop Monitor, Metal Shop Monitor, Monitor Manager, and Design Principles Project Assistant. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as a User Experience Designer at eSpark Learning, designing digital experiences for students and teachers. In 2016, they became a UX/UI Designer at Lumere. In 2018, Athena joined Blackbox, Inc as a Senior Product Designer, collaborating with stakeholders to improve fulfillment and shipping services. Finally, in 2020, they joined LogicGate as a Senior Product Designer, delivering high-value features and contributing to the design system. In 2021, they were promoted to Manager, Product Design, where they managed a team and developed career development programs.

Athena Lo attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Industrial Design. In addition to their formal education, Athena has obtained two additional certifications: "How Managers Create a Culture of Belonging" from LinkedIn, obtained in September 2022, and "Raise The Bar Certified Leader (Level 1)" from Raise The Bar, obtained in June 2022.
